These delightful chocolate fondant puds are a decadent treat. The rich chocolate exterior gives way to a gooey, orange-flavored center. Perfect for a special occasion or a mid-week indulgence!

 Chocolate and Orange Fondant Puds

Ingredients

    • 100g dark chocolate, broken into small pieces

    • 75g unsalted butter, plus a little for greasing

    • 1 medium egg and 1 egg yolk

    • 50g caster sugar

    • Zest of 1 unwaxed orange

    • 25g plain flour

    • 1 tablespoon crème fraiche or soured cream

    • 4 x 100-125ml dariole molds or ramekin dishes, lightly greased

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 200°C/Fan 180°C/Gas Mark 6.

    2. Melt chocolate: Place chocolate and butter in an ovenproof bowl over a bowl of simmering water. Melt and remove from heat.

    3. Make fondant: Whisk egg, egg yolk, and sugar until thick and creamy. Gently whisk in chocolate mixture, orange zest, and sifted flour.

    4. Assemble: Divide fondant mixture among prepared moulds. Add a spoonful of chocolate and orange curd filling to the centre of each. Top with remaining fondant.

    5. Bake: Bake for 10 minutes, or until risen and lightly crispy on top.

    6. Serve: Let cool for a few minutes before turning out onto plates. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
